CONGOLESE OFFICIALS VISIT MINALOC FOR DECENTALISATION POLICY


On Wednesday the 20th December 2017, different Officials including prefects from Congo Brazzaville visited the Ministry of Local Government accompany by Dr Habyalimana Jean Baptiste, Rwandan ambassador to the country.

The Minister of State for Socio-economic Development, Hon. Harelimana Cyriaque welcomed the delegation members and expressed gratitude for preferring Rwanda as their exemplary to learn from. Hon. Harelimana shared Rwanda’s success story on decentalisation policy that was adopted since 2000 catalyzing development not only in governance but also socio-economic affairs of Rwanda.

Their talks emphasized on the experience of both countries as far as implementation of decentralization policy is concerned.

Hon. Harelimana said: “We highly consider such visit which is an opportunity to learn what we can supplement to our efforts to better develop Rwanda.”

“Our country was devastated by the Genocide against Tutsi; we had to start from almost zero again, so our development approaches are still under progress and thus we would like to learn from other experiences to better move forward.” He added.

Congolese delegation members had attended Rwanda’s National Dialogue which discuss the national matters of the country so as to find solutions and set the measures.
